Inaugural RC Jet event hosted by the City of Sweetwater and the Abilene RC Society at Avenger Field.

As a joint initiative between the City of Sweetwater and the Abilene RC Society, Turbines & Tumbleweeds was launched as an opportunity for RC Jet Pilots to get together in the big, open skies of West Texas and share their enthusiasm of high-end model aviation with the community.  And, what better place than an airfield with such a rich history in aviation.  Avenger Field was the primary training grounds for the Women Air Service Pilots of WWII and is home to the National WASP Museum.  Come for the flying venue, tour the museum and enjoy the company and West Texas Sunsets
